2020 Lungarotti Aurente Chardonnay di Torgiano DOC

 A white wine with great structure. Intense straw yellow with alluring golden reflections, rich and elegant scents of orange blossom, banana, peach, pineapple and sweet, light notes of oak, vanilla and butter with delicate hints of coconut and white chocolate; it opens with refined flavour, fresh fruit and sapid, delicate citrus acidity; a long finish with excellent persistence.

Chardonnay from hillside vineyards, double Guyot and double spurred cordon pruning system, harvested in small crates in August-September. After criomacerazione in stainless steel, it is completely fermented in barrique, where it remains for 6 more months on the lees, with periodical bâtonnage. It then remains 8 months in bottle before release. If properly kept, it has long aging potential.

Proud of its Umbrian nature, Aurente has a strong and sunny temperament. The name recalls the preciousness of gold, both in its color and in the concentration of aromas and flavour.

Excellent with creamed or truffle risotto, fish with sauce or roasted, white meats in general, fricasseed lamb, aged cheeses, even those with intense flavour. Serve at 12-14°C (54-57°F) in large stem glasses.
