Half of the grapes are late-harvested at the end of October with more or less consistent development of the Nobel Rot; the other  half is left to dry on the vine. Spontaneous fermentation of the must in French oak barrels and subsequent maturation in the same barrels for at least 20 months. Additional 24 months of ageing in the bottle. Suitable for a very long ageing; particular vintages can age over 40 years. 
2015 is an almost perfect vintage and a   late harvest of the highest quality. The wine is very balanced and is characterised by a notable freshness and elegance. 
VINIFICATION

Estate grown and bottled. Prolonged maceration for about 20 days; Native yeasts; Pump-over twice daily. Maturation in 80% French oak barrels and 20% Slavonian oak for 30 months and further ageing in bottle for 20 months. Potential ageing in the bottle: 10-15 years.

Cialla Valley in the commune of Prepotto (Udine) – Friuli.

Squarzulis: 0.30ha. Terraced hills; East- South-East exposure; altitude: 240-270; family-owned. Cernetig: 0.70Ha. Terraced hills; South exposure; altitude: 150-170; family-owned.
Average age of vines: 16 years.
